Privacy policy

The short version

• There’s no account to create, and we don’t sell a user database.
• The website uses Google Analytics and shows Google AdSense ads.
• The iPhone app shows no ads and doesn’t track you. It uses Google Analytics only to understand how the app is used, and that data isn’t linked to your identity.
• Favorites stay on your device.
• If you contact us, we use your name and email only to reply.
• When you tap through to Amazon, Amazon’s privacy notice applies.

What this service is

We list featured Amazon products and, when live Amazon Product Advertising API data is connected, verified deals. Checkout happens on Amazon.com. We don’t take payment, store payment cards, or ship goods.

What we collect

We don’t ask you to create an account, and we don’t sell a user database.

Votes. Optional “Worth it / Skip” votes add to a count stored on our host. A single vote flag is also stored on your device (your browser’s or the app’s local storage) so you can’t vote twice on the same listing from that device. The count isn’t tied to you.

Server logs. Our host (Netlify) sees ordinary request logs (IP address, user agent, pages requested) as part of serving the site and the app’s content. We don’t use those logs to build advertising profiles.

Amazon click totals. When you tap See on Amazon, the site adds one to a first-party daily total of amazon_click taps so we can see how often people click through. That total doesn’t include the product, the page, your device or your IP address. The same tap also sends an amazon_click event, with the product and link, to Google Analytics (G-3HDCVL9000).

Amazon Associates

As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases.

Product links are Amazon Associates affiliate links. If we show sale prices, they come only from Amazon’s official API, never from invented markdowns. Prices and availability are shown on Amazon and can change at any time. FreshCut Deals isn’t affiliated with, sponsored by, or endorsed by Amazon.

Links to Amazon

When you tap a product, it opens on Amazon: in your web browser on the website, or in Safari or the Amazon app from the iPhone app. The iPhone app never opens Amazon inside the app. Once you’re on Amazon, Amazon may collect information under Amazon’s privacy notice. Amazon gives us Associates reports about items ordered through our links. Those reports don’t include your name or Amazon account details.

Third parties (including Amazon and other advertisers) may serve content and advertisements, collect information directly from visitors, and place or recognize cookies on visitors’ browsers. You can opt out of personalized Google ads in Google’s Ad Settings, and you can block or delete cookies in your browser’s settings.

Google Analytics

Every page of the website loads Google Analytics 4 (measurement ID G-3HDCVL9000) so we can see which pages are used. This includes the pages you view, links you tap, your approximate location (city or region, which Google derives from your IP address), and your device and browser type. If you use the site search, your search terms can appear in the page address that Google Analytics records. Google may set cookies for this. See Google’s privacy policy.

In the iPhone app, Google Analytics works the same way, for analytics only. App analytics data isn’t linked to your identity: we don’t set a user ID, and we don’t combine it with your name or email. We don’t use it for tracking: in the app, our Google Analytics tag is set not to use Google signals or ads personalization, we don’t link it with other companies’ data for advertising, and we don’t share it with data brokers.

You can limit website analytics with your browser’s cookie settings or Google’s opt-out add-on.

Google AdSense (website only)

The website loads Google AdSense (publisher ca-pub-2834649967841055) so Google can show ads. Google may use cookies or similar identifiers. See Google’s privacy policy and how Google uses data in ads.

The iPhone app shows no ads. The app contains no advertising SDKs, and the website doesn’t load its AdSense code when it’s shown inside the iPhone app.

The Android app

If you install the Android app (a Trusted Web Activity), you’re viewing this same website inside a Chrome Custom Tab-style shell. The app doesn’t add a separate login or extra tracking beyond what the site and the Android WebView / Custom Tabs stack already do. This includes the website’s Google Analytics and AdSense described above.

The iPhone app

The iPhone app shows freshcutdeals.com content and adds native features: favorites, sharing, and a daily reminder. It has no login and no ads, and it doesn’t track you, so it never asks for permission to track. Everything in this policy about the website applies to the content shown in the app, except AdSense, which doesn’t run in the app.

Notifications. The app can show a daily reminder at a time you choose to check Today’s Deals. It’s a local notification: your iPhone schedules it, and nothing is sent to us. The app doesn’t use push notifications and doesn’t send a device token anywhere. If we add push notifications later, they’ll go through Apple Push Notification service, the token will be used only to deliver notifications to you, and we’ll update this policy first. Notifications stay off until you allow them. You can turn the reminder off in the app’s Settings or in iOS Settings → Notifications → FreshCut Deals.

Favorites. Products you save with the heart are stored only on your device. They aren’t sent to our servers and aren’t synced across devices. If you delete the app, your favorites are deleted with it. On the website, saved hearts stay in your browser’s local storage, and clearing your browser data removes them.

Sharing. When you share a product, the app opens the iOS share sheet and you choose where it goes. We don’t receive your contacts or learn who you shared with. The shared link is a normal freshcutdeals.com address.

Availability. The iPhone app is available on the App Store in the United States only.

Contacting us

Our contact page asks for your name, email address, and message. We use them only to read and reply to your message. We don’t add you to a mailing list or use your message for advertising. Form submissions are handled by our host, Netlify (Netlify Forms). There’s no in-app account messaging.

How long we keep data

Deleting your data

• There’s no account to delete. We don’t create user accounts.
• To ask us to delete a contact form message, or anything else you think we hold about you, use our contact page and tell us what you’d like removed. Please use the same email address you contacted us from, if any. We’ll reply within 30 days.
• Google Analytics data isn’t linked to your name or email, so we usually can’t find one person’s records in it.
• Data on your device (favorites, vote flags, reminder settings) is deleted when you delete the app or clear your browser data. You can turn notifications off at any time in iOS Settings.

Children

FreshCut Deals isn’t directed to children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has sent us personal information through the contact form, contact us and we’ll delete it.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy when the website or apps change. We’ll post the new version on this page and change the “Last updated” date at the top. If a change materially affects how we handle your information, we’ll say so at the top of this page.
